Enjoy photos from our wonderful day . . . and a few of my favorite works of art!

Karen prepared us well for three related special exhibitions, so we arrived at the Dallas Museum of Art with great anticipation. Our journey began with the small and evocative Love Island: Japanese Weddings of the Edo Period installation, which was rich with detail and drama.

Afterward, we took a short walk to La Madeleine for a quick, tasty lunch. Reenergized, we returned to the DMA to experience our main attraction: The Impressionist Revolution from Monet to Matisse. This thoughtfully installed exhibit showcased the DMA's impressive collection, offering a deep dive into the transformative period of Impressionism, including work by Monet, Degas, and Morisot showcased alongside the responses of successive generations of avant-garde artists, from Gauguin and van Gogh to Mondrian and Matisse.

Our exploration continued with From Munch to Kirchner: The Heins Collection of Modern and Expressionist Art, featuring 30 paintings from artists like Renoir and Signac. The intimate arrangement of the exhibit allowed us to appreciate each piece closely.

To celebrate Bastille Day, we enjoyed refreshing Lillet Spritzes and indulged in French chocolates on our ride home! Check out the link for the spritz recipe.

Join us next time for more artful adventures!
